Students celebrate ACG Parnell’s best ever IBDP results

Students from ACG Parnell College’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBPD) have just received confirmation of their final marks for 2020 – and the results are outstanding!

Continuing to grow their reputation for excellence in academic achievement, ACG students performed phenomenally well in their recent examinations to achieve the school’s best ever IBDP scores.

  • 30% of ACG students scored 36 points (80%) or higher
  • 95% University Entrance rate

Special mention must also be made of the exceptional results of two standout students:

  • Prerna Kanji was awarded 43 points (from a maximum 45 points)
Prerna received 40 points (an average of 95%) across her six IBDP subjects (English language and literature, Spanish, European history, psychology, chemistry, mathematics). Plus, she earned the maximum three points for her core course elements (including Theory of Knowledge (TOK), a Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) project and an extended essay).

  • Yutong (Aria) Lin received 42 points
Aria was awarded 41 points (an average of 97.6%) across her subject selection of Chinese language and literature, English, economics, chemistry, physics, mathematics. She earned an additional one point for her core course elements.

Principal Damian Watson is delighted with these remarkable results and feels they are a testament not only to the school’s dedicated teaching staff, but also to ACG’s highly motivated students and their incredibly supportive families.

Offering a challenging pre-university course of study, the IDBP emphasises the importance of independent learning. This degree of autonomy enables Year 12 and 13 students gain confidence in their own abilities while developing effective self-management, study and time management skills. These valuable lessons provide students with a significant head-start over their peers and allow IBDP graduates to easily transition to tertiary study and life beyond the classroom.

Previous ACG Parnell College IBDP graduates have gone on to study at top universities in New Zealand and around the world.
