ACG Parnell has once again demonstrated its academic excellence, with students achieving an extraordinary 22 Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards in the 2024 examination series. A 100% A-Level Pass Rate
Demonstrating the strength of its academic excellence, ACG Parnell achieved an impressive 100% A-Level pass rate in the latest Cambridge Examinations. This milestone reflects the dedication of students and teachers alike, ensuring every learner is supported to reach their full potential while balancing academic success with co-curricular pursuits.
Exceptional Achievements
In the 2024 awards, ACG Parnell students secured:
- 7 Top in the World subject awards
- 15 Top in New Zealand subject awards (including High Achievement Awards, which recognise top performance in subjects with a smaller number of entries)
These awards span a diverse range of subjects across the arts, humanities, languages, and sciences, showcasing the school’s commitment to a well-rounded and high-calibre education.
Outstanding Academic Performance
Beyond the prestigious Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards, ACG Parnell students demonstrated exceptional academic results across all Cambridge assessment levels:
- The most awarded grade was the highest possible at each level: A* at IGCSE, A at AS-Level, and A* at A-Level.
- 369 ACG Parnell students earned A* grades at IGCSE or A-Level (or 90% or above at AS-Level) in the 2024 Cambridge examinations.
- A-Level: Over 50% of all papers were graded A*/A, the most awarded grade was an A*, and the school once again achieved a 100% pass rate.
- AS-Level: The most awarded grade was an A (A* is not available at AS-Level), with a 94% pass rate.
- IGCSE: The most awarded grade was an A*, with a 95% pass rate.
Top in the World Recognition
A particular highlight of this year’s results is the seven students who earned the prestigious 'Top in the World' awards in their respective subjects. Given that over two million students from 10,000 schools worldwide sit Cambridge exams each year, achieving this level of recognition is truly exceptional.
A Testament to Excellence
With a Year 13 cohort of 148 students, it is remarkable that ACG Parnell produced Top in the World recipients across seven different subjects. This is a testament to the dedication and talent of both the students and the educators who guide them. The school’s emphasis on academic excellence, students striving to achieve their personal best, and a supportive environment, has played a crucial role in these outstanding achievements.
These results have also led to ACG Parnell students gaining admission to top UK universities, including Cambridge and Oxford. Melbourne University, the University of New South Wales, and the University of Auckland remain popular tertiary study destinations for Parnell students but there has been a notable increase in Parnell students going to US universities, and the school awaits news of US university admissions with interest.
