ACG Parnell College’s overall Cambridge pass rates for 2019 show an impressively high level of achievement.

  • A Level: 100%
  • AS Level: 90%
  • IGCSE: 94%

At A Level, 45% of papers were graded with A* or A (80% or better), while at IGCSE level, 50% of papers received an A grade result.

Underscoring their academic success, ACG Parnell College received an unprecedented 16 Cambridge Awards. This award total has steadily increased since 2015 as students continue to perform at the highest level. This year’s results include:

  • 5 Top in World
  • 7 Top in New Zealand
  • 3 High Achievement (Top in New Zealand for a smaller subject)
  • Best Across Five (Top ICGSE Level student in New Zealand – Yuzhi Huang)

Special mention must also be made of the exceptional performances of several standout students:

  • Yuanzhe Xu: Top in World A Level Geography
  • Sophia Ye: Top in World AS Level History, Top in New Zealand AS Level Biology
  • Anusha Ramachandran: Top in World AS Level Mathematics (1st equal)
  • Raymond Li: Top in World AS Level Mathematics (1st equal)
  • Yuzhi Huang: Top in New Zealand across 5 IGCSE subjects, Top in New Zealand IGCSE Biology
  • Jonathan Lau: Top in World IGCSE Music

As the number of Cambridge International students continues to increase around the world, it is becoming ever more challenging to achieve top outcomes. With that in mind, these results are an outstanding tribute, not only to the school and it’s teaching staff, but also to Parnell College’s students and their families.

ACG Parnell College Principal, Russell Brooke, believes this success reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire school community, and highlights the connecting links between them.

“We are continually improving the strength of our teaching, hence our excellent academic results,” he says. “Our teachers then enjoy wonderful students who have a great attitude to learning and to school in general. And of course, we must recognise our students’ families who value and appreciate our school, our incredible teaching staff, and the opportunities for their children to thrive in a positive and success orientated educational environment.”
