Kia ora international students
ACG Parnell is a popular study destination for students from around the world. Welcoming international students into our school contributes to a high level of diversity in our student body, and enriches the education of both domestic and international students.
Urban learning environment
The ACG Parnell campus is situated close to the central city on the boundary of inner-city suburbs Parnell and Newmarket, with Auckland’s largest park, the Domain, next door. Students can experience the excitement of urban Auckland life together with the green spaces and friendly culture that New Zealand is famous for.
English language learner (ELL) support
New students who need assistance with English language enter an Intensive English Language programme, and are regularly assessed on their progress. As their English competence improves, more mainstream subjects are introduced. Ongoing ELL support is facilitated by teacher aides, who maintain constant awareness of each student’s individual needs.
International deans
Dedicated international deans are responsible for the wellbeing of international students, ensuring they adapt to New Zealand school life. Regular communication with parents ensures any roadblocks to learning are identified and resolved quickly.
Mid-year start option
Students in Years 0-10 who finish school in their home country in June are not required to wait until January to start at ACG Parnell. We can accommodate new international students starting in Term Three (July) and Term Four (October). Students in Years 11-13 cannot start mid-year as in these levels studies have almost been completed for the year, with Cambridge Exams approaching.
